Element: Identify types of stock and market requirements of food animals commonly slaughtered for meat
  • Identify major breeds of commonly slaughtered domestic animals
  • Identify distinguishing features of major breeds
  • Identify market requirements of commonly slaughtered domestic animals
       
Element: Prepare for ante-mortem inspection
  • Identify the purpose of the ante-mortem inspection
  • Identify regulatory requirements associated with ante-mortem inspection
  • Identify workplace health and safety hazards associated with ante-mortem inspection, and control risks, including using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Identify procedures and principles for humane handling of animals
